Her bloated form convulses. With wet, sickening pops, small spherical forms burst from her hide—tiny beholders, each no larger than a melon.
"Behold my CHILDREN. They hunger for your THOUGHTS."

Narrative:

The air tears. Reality screams as dimensional rifts open—shimmering wounds in space. From these emerge larger beholders, four-eyed and calculating.
"More CHILDREN for the HIVE. And NOW... I show you TRUE POWER."
The gravity in the chamber lurches sickeningly. Your stomach drops as "down" becomes uncertain.

Narrative:
"PATHETIC! You are NOT WORTHY! You are mere SUSTENANCE!"
The chamber SHAKES. The dimensional fabric SHATTERS. Two massive rifts tear open, and through them float two full-sized beholders—true Eye Tyrants with ten stalks each, antimagic cones blazing.
"My HONOR GUARD. They have DEVOURED WORLDS. You... are NOTHING."
Omnivax's body pulses with dark energy. Her eyes glow brighter, crackling with power. Her form seems to grow, swelling with stolen psychic energy.
"Now... I am UNLIMITED. Witness INFINITE PERSPECTIVE!"

- OMNIVAX ENTERS OVERCHARGED STATE:
- - Can use ALL 10 Eye Rays in one turn (once per combat)

Narrative:
As the final piece slides into place, there's absolute stillness. Every eye on Omnivax's massive form goes wide. Her mouth opens but no sound emerges.
Then, all at once, she SCREAMS. Not in rage, but in confusion, in SHOCK, in something she hasn't felt in millennia: SURPRISE.
"IMPOSSIBLE. I... I DID NOT... HOW DID YOU... NO SINGULAR MIND SHOULD..."
The chess pieces clatter from her telekinetic grip. Reality ripples outward from her form in visible waves.
A new voice—clear, regal, feminine, and deeply amused:
A spectral form coalesces near the chessboard—a woman in flowing robes patterned like a chessboard, golden eyes gleaming with mirth. She holds a glowing knight chess piece like a scepter.
"Well, well, WELL. It seems my infinite-perspective friend has been outplayed. Again."
She looks at the party with a knowing smile.
"I am Caïssa, Grandmaster of All Gambits, and I have been waiting a VERY long time for someone to beat this particular puzzle. How DELIGHTFUL to see her humbled."
Golden light erupts from the squares, flowing into each party member like warm honey.
"Accept my blessing, champions. You've earned it. And as for YOU..."
She turns to Omnivax. "...I believe the phrase is 'checkmate, darling.' Shall we see if you fight as well as you boast?"
Omnivax Suffers:

- Takes 30 psychic damage immediately
- AC reduced by 1 (to 19)
- Eye Ray save DC reduced by 1 (to 18)
- Cannot birth minions for 2 rounds
